China's bauxite resource dependence on foreign countries is as high as 60%, and 47% of its imports come from Indonesia. As soon as the news of changes in Indonesia’s bauxite export policy was released, it aroused concerns in the industry about the risk of domestic bauxite supply. In response to market concerns, President Wen said that before 2014, Indonesia restricted the export of bauxite. The impact of industry is also mainly on the price side. Before 2014, China can seek other resource import channels, so we don't have to worry too much about resource issues. On the other hand, due to the early release of the Indonesian bauxite export ban policy, domestic companies have made preparations in advance and made a series of response policies such as production reduction to stabilize the market and minimize the impact.

Aiming at the current embarrassing situation where high electricity prices raise costs and the purchasing power of the downstream market is not enough to drive up aluminum prices, Chairman Wen said that although aluminum smelting companies have suffered losses, aluminum processing companies have still achieved increased profits.
